Academia
The growing ATMP ecosystem in Västra Götaland is reflected in an increasing number of ATMP-related educational courses and training opportunities.
University of Gothenburg - Sahlgrenska Academy
The Sahlgrenska Academy, the medical faculty at the University of Gothenburg, has a long-standing and pioneering tradition in ATMP research. As early as 1987, the first patient was treated with autologous cartilage cells. Since then, we have continued to develop advanced therapies with the potential to transform the treatment of serious diseases. Our research spans cell and gene therapies and tissue engineering, with applications in areas such as cancer immunotherapy and reconstructive surgery. Research and education are closely connected to clinical practice, with the aim of bringing promising therapies closer to patients.
University of Gothenburg - Faculty of Science & Technology
The Faculty of Science and Technology contributes to the ATMP development through research and education spanning biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics as well as data and marine sciences. By combining fundamental biological research with advanced analytical methods, artificial intelligence, biomaterials and enabling technologies, the Faculty provides a scientific foundation enabling development of advanced therapies.
Chalmers University of Technology
Chalmers contributes to ATMP through research in drug delivery, biophysics, biosensing, bioanalytics, biomaterials, tissue engineering, bioprocessing, mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence. These fields provide methods for designing, producing and analysing advanced therapies. Chalmers also contributes experience in industrial collaboration, innovation and the development of research-based products and companies.
The Research Network
The Research Network is a list of researchers from universities, hospitals, research institutes, and other organizations across Västra Götaland working in ATMP-related research and innovation.
By bringing together expertise from different disciplines and sectors, the network aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and new partnerships. If you are interested in a specific research area or would like to explore potential collaborations, we encourage you to contact the researchers directly.
